New Stripper Vocabulary Word: OTC

OTC starts Monday, and I’m happy to report that I’ll be in Houston this week. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what OTC is, I’ve added an entry for it to the Stripper Vocabulary list.

OTC: (n.) Offshore Technology Conference. It’s an early-May oil-and-gas-related convention wherein some 50,000 oil-and-gas industry employees, executives, owners, and all-around big-shots descend upon Houston to discuss “development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection.” [How's that "environmental protection" stuff working out, guys?] Conference attendees come from around the globe with their expense accounts, and any stripper within a 100-mile radius of Houston, Tex. is sure to show up while OTC is going on. OTC is really more of a specialized term, since it primarily concerns Texas strippers, and Houston strippers in particular.

Big Oil, I thank you for bringing your money to the Houston; please spend freely.
